PDP demands President Buhari suspends Amaechi, Onu

The opposition party noted in a statement on Friday, November 4 that just as the National Judicial Council (NJC) suspended judges accused of corruption, the president should also do the same with the ministers accused of corruption in his cabinet.

PDP noted that since the judges had indicted the likes of transport minister Rotimi Amaechi and

Science and Technology minister Ogbonnaya Onu, the duo should also be suspended.

The party noted that anything less than what the NJC has done from President Buhari would allegedly confirm reports that he and his cabinet considered themselves above the law.

The statement read: “It is public knowledge that on Thursday, 4th of November, 2016, the NJC announced the decision to suspend Justices Sylvester Ngwuta and Justice Inyang Okoro of the Supreme Court. Others are Justice Mohammed Tsamiya –Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Ilorin Division; Justice Kabiru Auta – Kano State High Court; Justice Adeniyi Ademola – Federal High Court, Abuja; Justice I. A. Umezulike – Former Chief Judge of Enugu State and Muazu Pindiga – Federal High Court, Gombe Division.
