Metuh funded party’s publicity activities with his personal money – Witness
A witness in the ongoing trial of the former publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Olisa Metuh has said that the defendant ran the party’s media and publicity office with his personal money.
Testifying in court on Thursday, October 27, Richard Ihediwa, the fifth defence counsel said the PDP’s publicity finances were in terrible
situation when Metuh took over office.
Ihediwa also said the office found it difficult to hire adequate staff to enable it run its activities.
He added that as at point, the public department of the party could not place advertorials on dailies as required.
Ihdiwa, who worked as an assistant to the defendant however noted that the lack of funds never deterred the office under the leadership of Metuh from carrying out its functions.
